Stefano Brusoni
Title of keynote:
Cognitive Flexibility: its value in business and military organizations
Stefano Brusoni is Professor of technology and Innovation Management at ETH Zurich (CH). Since August 2022, he is Pro-rector for Continuing Education (Weiterbildung). His work focuses on the obstacles to innovation and change in individuals and organizations, and on how to overcome them. He has published on journals such as Strategic Management Journal; Administrative Science Quarterly; Organization Science; Academy of Management Journal; Frontiers of Human Neuroscience; Research Policy, Industrial and Corporate Change and many others. In the past, he was Chair of the Knowledge and Innovation Interest Group of the Strategic Management Society, as well as Chair of the Technology and Innovation Management Division of the Academy of Management. He is currently serving as Senior Editor of Organization Science and was Associate Editor of the Strategic Management Journal. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Academy of Management Discoveries and Strategic Organization. He is also a founder and entrepreneur, currently active in the EdTech space.
John, Lord Alderdice is a politician, academic and psychoanalytic psychiatrist who works on the application of psychology to violent political conflict.
As Leader of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland he played a significant role in negotiating the 1998 Belfast/Good Friday Agreement. He retired as the first Speaker of the new Northern Ireland Assembly in 2004 and was appointed to the international Independent Monitoring Commission, tasked with overseeing security normalization in Northern Ireland. He now advises on conflicts around the world.
An active Liberal life member of the British House of Lords since 1996 he was President (now Presidente D’Honneur) of Liberal International - the global body of over 100 liberal political parties.
His appointments at Oxford University include Executive Chairman of the Changing Character of War Centre at Pembroke College. He is also a Professor of Practice at the University of Wales Trinity St David and founder and chairman of The Concord Foundation. He has been awarded honorary doctorates and prizes around the world, most recently receiving the 2022 Royal College of Psychiatrists Lifetime Achievement Award.

Beyond the war: mental health consequences in civilian war survivors
Naser Morina, PhD, is senior researcher/lecturer at University of Zurich, and head of research and co-head of the Outpatient Unit for Victims of Torture and War, University Hospital Zurich. Dr. Morina is specializing in global mental health, traumatic stress and psychotraumatology in general. His specific research expertise focuses on various aspects of traumatic stress and trauma-related disorders in vulnerable people, such as migrants, refugees, prison inmates, and stressed health care workers. His research theme is wide-ranging, including understanding the underlying mechanisms and development and implementation of new scalable psychological interventions where he is currently principal investigator of several projects and RCTs.

The International Applied Military Psychology Symposium - IAMPS - is an annual meeting of military psychologists from around the world aimed at identifying and developing best practice procedures concerning the field of applied military psychology.
Its main focus is to enable a dialogue among international military psychologists to share the latest applied research advances as well as information on organization-specific procedures and lay the groundwork for collaboration. This process stimulates important research resulting in significant improvements. By uncovering potential synergies it supports the goal of cost efficiency and also helps to improve interoperability. Therefore the spotlight of IAMPS is concentrated on a profound exchange of experiences in the field of applied military psychology.

IAMPS 2019 was hosted by the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Organization for Migration, Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina from May 6th to 10th, 2019.
